Next Project?

The upcoming week looks a tad hectic, no there'll be no chance for baking these few days. :(

However, I am aiming to have at least one project to be released next Monday!

The theme is still a little close to STGCC... and something related to comics... stay tuned for updates till then! ^.^

A Moment of Excitement!

Totally in love with the friendliness of Shin-san! He put our muffins into the Devilrobots display cabinet at STGCC2010 this evening, along with the namecard of the fan-friend who presented it to him! How cool is that??

Rainbow Explosion!

Rainbows are well loved and popular, and there have been many people who've done rainbow cakes (a quick Google search reveals many pretty photos!). So I thought, why not rainbow muffins?

ToysEtc thought it an excellent idea indeed, because the writer is a big fan of rainbows. So he placed a special order for fresh and cheery muffins, to be distributed to his friends at STGCC!

I started with making up rainbow shades of Sweet Hut's muffin mix (a wee trade secret, here!). The colours were made as bright as possible for best effect while still maintaining the great taste and texture that Sweet Hut is known for! :)

After that, it was time to fill the cups...

Now, something about muffins that differentiates them from cakes (or cupcakes, for that matter) is that they have a lovely puffy dome that is the result of volcanic activity during baking. So we expected the results to be different from the stable bands of colour found in most rainbow cake pictures.

Lo and behold, when the mix was baked, our eyes were met with a riot of colours!

Naturally, this meant some wonderful marbling effects within, to be discovered by anyone who gets the chance to eat them. It also means that every single rainbow is a unique gift!

Launching MunchKimz with Happy Stuff!

Official launch of MunchKimz begins today, with the collaborative efforts of both customisers for a special order of muffins!

Singapore Toys Games and Comics Convention (STGCC) is on this weekend at Suntec, and with all the famous artists pouring into town, there's bound to be fans thinking up new and impressive presents for their idols...

The following customs were commissioned by E, who runs a vinyl toy blog: ToysEtc for three of the visiting guests!

Of Toys and Their Designers

One of the obsessions that both custom cupcake designers share is collecting Gloomy Bear merchandise. So of course, when we heard he was coming to town, we couldn't help but want to create our own edible version of his most famous work!

Credit goes to ToysEtc for actually ordering from us as a gift to the creator of Gloomy Bear, Mori Chack as well as the Tokidoki and Devilrobot ones too!

From our test attempt, we created this:

And for the actual, special day... the army was born!

But our favourite pose of the evening has to be from Shinichiro Kitai-san, from Devilrobots. Here he is with our to-fu muffins!

Cute laaaaa. Exact same expression as his Tofus!
